Eva Benn

Eva Benn is a mufti-award winning cybersecurity leader and educator with over 12 years of experience in cybersecurity, most of which in red teaming, penetration testing, and systemic risk remediation, both as a people leader and hands-on practitioner. She is an international keynote and TEDx speaker, a cybersecurity YouTube educator and the founder and host of Security Mondays, a podcast featuring conversations with many of the world's leading cybersecurity experts on the future of AI and security. Eva has spent the past 8 years working at Microsoft, being a part of some of the largest red team and pentest teams in the company. Before joining Microsoft, she worked in Big 4 cybersecurity consulting, leading global penetration testing and cybersecurity initiatives across various industries. Eva holds a Graduate Cert Degree in Ethical Hacking and Penetration Testing from the SANS Institute, along with an extensive list of industry certifications, including CISSP, CEH, CCSP, Security+, GSEC, GCIH, GSTRT, GPEN, GWAPT, GRTP, etc. Beyond her work at Microsoft, Eva is deeply involved in the security community actively contributing to the OWASP for GenAI Project, the OWASP Quantum Project, and the OWASP Agentic Control Standard. She has previously help leadership positions in the OWASP Seattle Chapter, WiCyS Western Washington, ISACA Puget Sound Chapter, the EC Council CEH Advisory Board, and the GIAC Advisory Board. She was also a founding Co-Chair of the Microsoft Women in Security and Co-Founder of Women in Tech Global. She has been globally recognized and honored with multiple awards for her industry impact. Outside of cybersecurity, Eva is a passionate mountaineer, frequently summiting Washington State’s highest peaks, including Mount Rainier, Mount Adams, and Mount Baker, and taking on challenges in the Swiss Alps. Her love for mountaineering reflects her resilience, strategic mindset, and ability to push limits, qualities that define her both on the mountain and in the world of cybersecurity.
