Hard to believe, but Snyk 2025 Fetch the Flag is the 7th CTF we’ve released for your educational entertainment. But if this is your first time checking out our CTFs, here’s a gentle reminder on how we do our best to focus on a no-pressure learning environment.
How do I play JHT’s CTFs?
To make it easier on you, each CTF Archive is going to have 2 virtual machines:
- Challenge Machine: This Linux VM will be running ALL challenges with a networked backend component to make it accessible to the attach machine. This is so that the user does not need to mess with starting and stopping each challenge.
- Kali Machine: This Kali Linux VM will be used for solving the challenges.
The CTF Archive is broken down into Chapters and Lessons. Each “Chapter” is a different category, while each “Lesson” contains one and only one challenge with the difficulty level indicated in its title.
The information for connecting to a challenge is contained in each lesson. The Kali Machine will have any necessary files needed for completing the challenge pre-loaded on the student’s desktop. There is a little auto-generated message at the bottom with the path to those files. Everything will be solvable from the VM within the web browser VM, so you will not need to download anything or bring your own VM for solving the challenges.

What do I get?
All CTFs come with a web-based version Kali Linux for you to tackle the challenges. To make things even easier, ALL challenges are on server. No need to start a new machine for each and every challenge. It doesn’t get any easier than that to start learning.
CTFs are $20 and come with a ton of lab time. If you run out, you can always purchase more at an affordable price.
Prerequisites for Snyk 2025 Fetch the Flag
No absolute required knowledge needed to start playing. However, there are numerous levels of challenges. So, it is approachable for all levels!
Because the entire virtual environment is provided for you, you need nothing other than a computer, Internet access and your brain!
